Iberamia’2024, the 18th Ibero-American Conference on Artificial Intelligence, will be held in Montevideo (Uruguay) on November 13-15th, 2024, organized by the Facultad de Ingeniería de la Universidad de la República.

IBERAMIA’2024 is the 18th edition of the Ibero-American Conference on Artificial Intelligence, a leading symposium where the Ibero-American AI community comes together to share research results and experiences with researchers in Artificial Intelligence from all over the world. The main technical program will consist of invited talks by leading scientists in the area, presentations of technical papers, orally and as posters, as well as system demonstrations. Satellite events organized and occurring together with IBERAMIA’24 include a Doctoral and Master Consortium (SIMDIA), workshops and tutorials. Paving the way to these events a pre-conference program will take place distributed through time up to November 2024, consisting on a series of open online seminars on IberamiaChannel.

Submission Topics

IBERAMIA 2024 welcomes submissions on all AI topics, as well as cross cutting work in related areas. Paper Submission Guidelines

* Papers must be written in English, in the Springer LNCS format, and must not exceed 12 pages, including all tables, figures (https://www.springer.com/gp/computer-science/lncs/conference-proceedings-guidelines). Submissions over twelve pages will be rejected without review.
* Papers must be submitted through the EquinOCS Conference System: (https://equinocs.springernature.com/service/IBERAMIA2024)

Authors should choose the topic or topics above that are most related to the submitted paper. All submissions will go through a double blind peer review process by Program Committee members on the basis of their originality, relevance, significance, technical soundness, quality and clarity. Thus, author names and affiliations must be omitted from the submission, using instead the unique tracking number assigned by the conference system at the time of submission. In addition, self?references in the text, like «in [14] we prove that» should be avoided, using instead references such as «in [14] has been proved that».

All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference.

Conference Registration and Attendance
At least one author is required to register for the conference and should be available to present the paper. We encourage all authors to attend if possible.

Best paper Award
A “Best Paper Award” will be given to the authors of the best paper, as judged by the Best Paper Award Selection Committee. There will also be the “Best Paper Presentation Award” selected from the audience feedback collected during the IBERAMIA 2024.

Publication
The Proceedings of IBERAMIA’2024 will be published in Springer «Advances in Artificial Intelligence», LNCS/LNAI series.

Journal Opportunities
A select set of top-rated papers will be nominated for fast track review at participating journals, including AI Communications, Progress in Artificial Intelligence, Inteligencia Artificial, and other international journals (all of them indexed by Scopus, JCR, etc.).

PhD and Master Theses Contest
The Second Ibero-American Symposium on Masters and Doctorates in Artificial Intelligence (SIMDIA’2023) will be held as a pre-conference activity on November 9-10, 2023. In this event awards will be given to the best PhD and MSc theses.

CALL FOR WORKSHOPS’ PROPOSALS

The conference will feature a pre-conference program of workshops. IBERAMIA 2024 will welcome workshops proposals in all areas of AI. The workshops will preferably be held in one day, at the beginning of the conference.
Proposals for workshops should be a maximum of five pages in length, and should contain the following information:
    • Title of the workshop.
    • A brief description of the workshop, specifying the workshop goals, the technical issues addressed and the relevance of the workshop to the Iberamia Conference. Proposals of workshops with open discussions on specific topics are welcome.
    • Specific information regarding the organizers: names, affiliations, postal addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and expertise in the topic of the workshop. The organization committee should include at least two members.
    • Description of the paper review process and acceptance standards, including a preliminary list of the workshop program committee with names, titles and affiliations.
    • Expected duration of the workshop.

All proposals should be submitted, by electronic mail, to the Workshop Chair (iberamia2024@iberamia.org), before September 15th, 2024.
The list of accepted IBERAMIA 2024 workshops will be published along with the submission details on the conference’s Web site. Papers for the workshops can be written in Spanish, Portuguese, or English.

Numerous important fields, including weather and climate, ecology, transport, urban computing, bioinformatics, medicine, and finance, routinely work with temporal data. Temporal data present a number of new challenges, including increased dimensionality, drifts, complex behavior in terms of long-term interdependence, and temporal sparsity, to mention a few. Hence, learning from temporal data requires specialized strategies that are different from those used for static data. Continuous cross-domain knowledge exchange is required since many of these difficulties cut over the lines separating various fields. This special session aims to integrate the research on learning from temporal data from various areas and to synthesize new concepts based on statistical analysis, time series analysis, graph analysis, signal processing, and machine learning.

The length of each paper submitted to the Research tracks should be no more than ten (10) pages and should be formatted following the standard 2-column U.S. letter style of the IEEE Conference template. For further information and instructions, see the IEEE Proceedings Author Guidelines.
All submissions will be blind-reviewed by the Program Committee on the basis of technical quality, relevance to the conference’s topics of interest, originality, significance, and clarity. Author names and affiliations must not appear in the submissions, and bibliographic references must be adjusted to preserve author anonymity. Submissions failing to comply with paper formatting and authors’ anonymity will be rejected without reviews.
Because of the double-blind review process, non-anonymous papers that have been issued as technical reports or similar cannot be considered for DSAA’2024. An exception to this rule applies to arXiv papers that were published in arXiv at least a month prior to the DSAA’2024 submission deadline. Authors can submit these arXiv papers to DSAA provided that the submitted paper’s title and abstract are different from the one appearing in arXiv.
All accepted full-length special session papers will be published by IEEE in the DSAA main conference proceedings under its Special Session scheme. All papers will be submitted for inclusion in the IEEEXplore Digital Library.
High-quality accepted papers will be recommended to a Special Issue of the International Journal of Data Science and Analytics on “Learning from temporal data” through a fast-track process.

The EPIA Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a 
well-established European conference in the field of AI. 
The 23rd edition, EPIA 2024, will take place in Viana do Castelo,
Portugal, between 3rd to 6th of September, 2024. As in previous 
editions, this international conference is hosted with the patronage
of the Portuguese Association for Artificial Intelligence (APPIA). 
The purpose of this conference is to promote research in all areas 
of AI, covering both theoretical/foundational issues and applications, 
and the scientific exchange among researchers, engineers, and 
practitioners in related disciplines.
EPIA 2024 will feature a set of thematic tracks, covering a wide spectrum 
of AI topics.
Accepted papers will be published in a Springer’s Lecture Notes in 
Artificial Intelligence volume.

## IROBOT Description 
IROBOT’2024 poses itself as a follow-up on the previous nine International
Thematic Tracks/Workshops on Intelligent Robotics held at EPIA since 2005. 
Its main purpose is to bring together researchers, engineers and other 
professionals interested in the application of AI techniques in real/simulated
robotics to discuss current work and future directions.
Robotics, from the point of view of AI, has been an important 
application field, from which AI has also gained. Namely, the dynamic 
and unforeseen nature of the environment, especially for mobile robots,
has fostered research in these aspects of AI. Together with the developments
in Robotics Research, the use of Robotics in industry and services has 
changed a lot in recent years. New paradigms and approaches for industrial 
robots and service robots have emerged, for example, on mobile robots 
learning, localization, mapping and navigation in unstructured environments. 
IROBOT 2024 will discuss will discuss these new developments on industrial 
and service robotics with focus on robotic assistive platforms/solutions and 
robotics application related to nature (ocean, florest, agriculture, etc.).

This topics’ list is not exhaustive. Papers may address one or more of the

## Paper Submission 
Authors are invited to submit original research contributions or 
experience reports in English. Scientific or technical articles describing 
state-of-the-art techniques, algorithms, systems, environments, problems 
or applications relevant to the area of Intelligent Robotics may 
be submitted. Papers discussing application transfer from simulated to 
real robots and papers showing socially useful robotic applications 
generated by participations in robotic competitions are also welcome. 
Although the main focus is on robot learning, there will be space for 
reporting research in AI applied to other types of robots. 
Submissions must follow the guidelines specified in the EPIA’2024 site. 
The Springer LNCS format must be used (instructions in 
Springer encourages authors to include their ORCIDs in their papers. 
The length of submitted full papers must not exceed 12 pages. Authors must remove 
their names from the submitted papers, and should take reasonable care 
not to indirectly disclose their identity. Paper submissions will be made 
in PDF format, through the submission page:
Three program committee members will be assigned to review each 
paper. Acceptance will be based on the paper’s significance, technical 
quality, clarity, relevance and originality. Accepted papers, must be 
presented at the conference by one of the authors. Accepted papers will 
be scheduled for presentation, which requires that at least one of the 
authors should register at the Conference. All accepted papers will be 
published in the Conference Proceedings.

INTRODUCTION
Every day medicine is facing new challenges: new diseases, cost reductions, new therapeutics, rapid and accurate decisions, new techniques and technologies. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is playing an important role in the decision making process, in the way  the data of the patients are collected, treated, processed, anticipating and avoiding critical situations, as well to test and simulate new treatments and devices. The big question to be answered is: How Artificial Intelligence can help to overcome these challenges and improve the efficiency of medicine?
Data Science, Sensing, Pervasiveness, Ubiquity and Intelligent Agents in Medicine, can contribute with new artifacts and new knowledge for health professionals. AI aims to improve the usability of programs for assisting physicians in figuring out what is wrong with the patients and provide new solutions to help making better decisions. AI systems are intended to support healthcare practitioners in the normal course of their duties, assisting with tasks that rely on the manipulation of data and knowledge. In particular, these systems have for example the capacity to learn, leading to the discovery of new phenomena and the creation of medical knowledge improving human health and longevity.
This track promotes a forum to discuss and present emergent topics, new projects and ideas about how AI can contribute to the field of Medicine and, improve patient conditions. By bringing together researchers from two distinct areas is expected to produce new scientific and technical knowledge in a particular area as is medicine. Special attention will be given to the social impact/gain of the AI contributions in medicine.

PAPER SUBMISSION
All papers should be submitted in PDF format through EPIA’2024 submission Website. Submissions must be original and can be of two types: regular (full-length) papers should not exceed twelve (12) pages in length, whereas short papers should not exceed six (6) pages. Each submission will be peer reviewed by at least three members of the Program Committee. The reviewing process is double blind. The best accepted papers will appear in the proceedings published by Springer in the LNAI series (previous EPIA proceedings were indexed by the Thomson ISI Web of Knowledge, Scopus, DBLP and ACM digital library). The remaining accepted papers will be published in the local proceedings with ISBN.

TRACKS AND SPECIAL SESSIONS

In addition to the main track, ICLP 2024 will host:

–   Applications Track: invites submissions on emerging and deployed
    applications of LP, describing aspects of the development,
    deployment, and evaluation of logic programming systems to solve
    real-world problems, including interesting case studies, benchmarks,
    and lessons learned.

–   Recently Published Research Track: provides a forum to discuss
    important recent results related to logic programming that have
    appeared (from January 2022 onward) in selective journals and
    conferences, but have not been presented at ICLP.

–   System Demonstrations. We invite submissions to showcase logic
    programming systems in a live setting. This track is not designed
    for sales pitches. Rather demonstrations are a way for the community
    to see the relevance, potential, and innovation of the system and to
    allow time for discussion with its creator(s).

–   Birds of a Feather (BoF) Sessions. We invite proposals for break-out
    sessions during ICLP to provide informal discussions for colleagues
    with similar interests in inclusive environments. BoFs are not
    intended to be presentations: proposers of BoF sessions should serve
    as discussion leaders only.

    Electronic Proceedings in Theoretical Computer Science (EPTCS).
    EPTCS format is described at http://style.eptcs.org

All accepted papers will be presented during the conference. Authors of
accepted papers will by default be automatically included in the list of
ALP members, who will receive quarterly updates from the Logic
Programming Newsletter at no cost. The forms of submission are as
follows.

–   Main and Application Tracks All papers must describe original,
    previously unpublished research, and must not simultaneously be
    submitted for publication elsewhere. (These restrictions do not
    apply to previously accepted workshop papers with a limited audience
    and/or without archival proceedings.)

    Main and Application track submissions may have one of two forms.

    –   Regular papers are at most 14 pages in TPLP format, including
        references. Accepted regular papers will be published either in
        a special issue of TPLP or in the Technical Communication
        Proceedings of ICLP ’24. In the latter case, papers must be
        reformatted into EPTCS format and must not exceed 14 pages.
        Authors of Regular papers accepted as Technical Communications
        can convert their submissions into extended abstracts (2 or 3
        pages in EPTCS format) which should allow authors to submit a
        long version elsewhere.

    –   Short papers (7 pages in EPTCS format, including references).
        The accepted short papers will be published in the Technical
        Communication Proceedings.

–   Recently Published Research Track We invite extended abstracts
    describing previously published research (from January 2022 onwards)
    in selective journals and conferences, that has not been previously
    presented at ICLP. The extended abstract should be 2-3 pages in
    EPTCS format and accompanied by a title page with (i) details on
    where the original paper appeared, (ii) a link to the original
    paper, (iii) a paragraph describing why the authors believe this
    work warrants a presentation at ICLP. The extended abstracts will be
    published in the Technical Communication Proceedings.

–   System Demonstrations We invite extended abstracts (2 or 3 pages in
    EPTCS format) describing systems to be demonstrated in a session of
    ICLP. System demonstrations should provide highlights of the novel
    features of the system, along with information about how to access
    it. Accepted abstracts will be published in the Technical
    Communication Proceedings.

–   Birds of a Feather (BoF) Proposals Finally we invite extended
    abstracts (2-3 pages in EPTCS format) that propose breakout sessions
    that may take place during the ICLP 24 conference. BOF proposals
    should motivate the relevance of the topic to logic programming,
    describe the expected audience, identify discussion leaders and
    their expertise, and provide a brief description of the activities
    during the session. BoF proposals should also discribe the planned
    practices to promote inclusion and to foster attendee involvement.
    Accepted abstracts will be published in the Technical Communication
    Proceedings.

Submissions
Papers can have a maximum length of 12 pages. All papers should be prepared according to the formatting instructions of Springer LNCS series (Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science). Authors should omit their names from the submitted papers, and should take reasonable care to avoid indirectly disclosing their identity.

Scope
Artificial intelligence and law is a field of study and research, which has been established since long and deals with all the possible applications of artificial intelligence to the world of law. Traditionally, this field has mainly concerned the forms of legal reasoning, the formation of legal knowledge, and the decision-making processes inherent to the legal domain. 

However, recent developments in artificial intelligence have also affected this area of study and research. Increasingly, artificial intelligence is no longer defined with close reference to the notion of human intelligence, consciousness, and alike, but is considered as a growing resource of interactive, autonomous, and self-learning agency. As a smart form of agency, AI has even a greater potential to affect and reshape law, while raising legal, technical, and ethical issues, which affect human autonomy, self-determination, and responsibility. 

Furthermore, since AI is gradually more fueled by data, these issues are predominantly rooted in data collection, retention and management. This raises key questions and challenges that require full examination and discussion, since they deeply affect the future trends of law.

The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
 Formal and computational models of legal knowledge
 Models of legal reasoning
 Artificial intelligent systems in the legal domain
 Automation and decision-making process
 Machine learning and data mining
 Artificial intelligence and litigation
 Predictive coding
 Autonomous and self-learning agency
 Ethics of artificial intelligence

We would like to invite you to submit a paper to the Thematic Track on Artificial Intelligence in Power and Energy Systems (AIPES) of EPIA 2024, to be held Viana do Castelo, Portugal between September 3rd-6th, 2024.

Submissions:

AIPES welcomes full length papers (of up to 12 pages) and also short papers (up to 6 pages), demonstrating practical applications. All papers should be submitted in PDF format through the EPIA 2024 EasyChair submission page.

Authors should consult Springer’s authors’ guidelines and use their proceedings templates, either for LaTeX or for Word, for the preparation of their papers. Springer encourages authors to include their ORCIDs in their papers. In addition, the corresponding author of each paper, acting on behalf of all of the authors of that paper, must complete and sign a Consent-to-Publish form. The corresponding author signing the copyright form should match the corresponding author marked on the paper. Once the files have been sent to Springer, changes relating to the authorship of the papers cannot be made.

Accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings (a volume of Springer’s LNAI-Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence), provided that at least one author is registered in EPIA 2024 by the early registration deadline. EPIA 2024 proceedings are indexed in Thomson Reuters ISI Web of Science, Scopus, DBLP and Google Scholar.

Each accepted paper must be presented by one of the authors in a track session.
